Local Heroes Going Back Home to South Shields!
With the strains of ‘Going Home’ and Mark Knopfler ringing in their ears, the record number of JJs made their way along the well-trodden roads from Newcastle to South Shields. Over Fifty JJs, a third of the Club, ran, jogged or just got through it with the immense crowd cheering them on, each one having a tale to tell at the end of the 13.1 miles.
With money raised for various causes, close to each of the JJs hearts, it was off to the Lonsdale for a well-earned cold drink and post-race debrief about PB’s, adventures, sights and sore feet and legs.
A massive thank you to all the JJs out supporting their team mates across the Tyne Bridge and the Felling Bypass. It was good to hear their shouts of encouragement.
A great day as ever racing along the streets of Tyneside, the place we are lucky to call our home.
