A cold morning greeted the JJs making the club’s debut in the Birtley XC Relays.
The first relays of the year saw a testing 3000m course, consisting of two laps, which was deceptively hard going. The course was soft with some wicked hills, up and down, which sapped the energy.
Masters Race
We finished two teams in the NEMAA XC relay championships held within the Birtley XC Relays.
Our Men’s 35 team finished a credible 14th out 34 teams. A great effort
Our Men’s 55 team were a very good 7th out of 12 finishing teams
Two senior women teams took the line with 32 other clubs, A good performance from both teams saw them finish inside the top 20 at positions 12 and 19.
Three senior men teams completed the relays, with the A team getting inside the top 10 with a credible 9th place and beating local rivals Heaton Harriers in the process. Our other two teams finished a good 14th and 19th.  A disappointing 22 men’s teams finished in relation to the senior women’s teams.
