The Ronnie Walker race is the oldest 10k on an undulating course in and around the grounds of Saltwell Park in Gateshead.
After a cold period of weather during the week questions were asked whether the event would go ahead, and so on getting the race, an info email saying that the event was going ahead was good to see!
6 JJ’s made their way to Saltwell park. The weather was cold but the course didn’t look too bad and had been gritted.
The course is 3.5 laps of the park taking in some steep hills but some fast downhill sections. The Xmas spirit was in full flow as it is the last race before Xmas.
First home carrying on his impressive form was Cliff Veitch with a great time of 43.57 in 85th place.  Next up was Angus Miller in a time of 46:04 in 117 place. A fantastic run by Phill Carr in a time of 46:13 in 118 place. Recent new member Rhys Minchin came 154 and a great time of 48:59.  First Female home for the JJ’s with a PB and also showing everyone how much she has improved lately was Gerry Rowland. Gerry was 167 and ran a time of 51:08.  David Newman was the last JJ across the line in a time of 57:22. His position of 237.
Total number of runners out 311.
