The popular and lovely race organised by Sunderland Strollers saw 1287 runners cross the line with two JJs being 1st and 2nd in the women’s race.

Molly Rebecca led home all the JJs (both male and female – we need to pull our fingers put lads) to claim victory in the women’s race and finished 42nd overall.

Laura Cheetham was four paces down to claim 2nd place in the women’s race as well as second JJ overall. The clock was now ticking to see if Kate Black could do enough to help claim the women’s team prize!

The women’s captain didn’t let the side down and the trophy was theirs! A proud club chairman saw the women lift the trophy on the balcony over looking the beach! Amazing running ladies!

The JJs closed 5 runners inside the top 100 and it was great to see Rosie England donning the JJs vest to bring home the JJs. A great performance from everyone on the gorgeous North East coastline.
